hi clare,

the space saver can be retrofitted by your dealer. it hangs under the rear of the car.

me too, want to buy a space-saver spare tire, any body knows the part number? Will it fit on the boot? because in MCS there is a battery box under the boot.

Mints would the space saver work with 18" wheels though?
Just a thought cause with the extra size of the rims would there not be a chance of the front bumper catching if one of the fronts went?

I have a letter from MINI Customer Services and my dealer saying this is not so. They only build the bits under the boot floor if you specify the spare wheel from the factory. If not, they're not there!

trust me, you can get the parts!

dunno how well it would work with the rest bing 18's, its only a 15" wheel, and its half the width of the normal 15's.

helmi, not sure if it can be fitted to the 'S' for the reason you pointed out. it is strapped to the underside of the car on ONE/Cooper, but the battery is in the way on the S. however, you should have runflats?? which should keep you going long enough to get the tire repaired!

part number for space saver rim: 36 11 1 509 164 size: 3 1/2j x 15 ET35

here are the part numbers for the rest of the kit:

Clare i didnt mean strapping a £300 Kahn rim under the car. I mean with the 15" space saver isnt there a possibility that if it one of the fronts had the flat the front bumper may catch on the floor when the space saver is on? as i said i dont know its only a though, wouldnt want u to scrach that painted bumper lip
