Hi guys, bought a mini cooper s about 3 months ago, ive unfortunatly got a slow puncture and want to replace 2 back tyres, the cost from a local garage is quite honestly a joke. Was wondering if anybody knows of a decent site to get a pair for a decent price (not budget tyres). I can get the tyres fitted cheap! Thanks in advance
I replaced mine without run-flats. Went to the Khumos non run-flat and get excellent mileage for track and street. The run-flats have a low treadwear 200-240 and the Khumos are a 400. Got the set off Ebay on BBS rims mounted and balanced for the dealer price of one run-flat tire.
I've just switched to non Run Flats and my Bridgestone Potenza RE050a are going for a song if you want to collect (I'm in South Cheshire). They've probably done less than 20,000 miles as they came off in November when I switched to my winters and I've decided after getting my non run flats fitted to my new alloys I won't be going back.
I've got two off the rear which I think have easily got 5mm+ on and my OSF which is maybe 4mm. I can't find my tread depth gauge at present - but would obviously get hold of one for pictures if you're interested.
As far as I know they are fine and dandy - they came off my car in November, and I have been keeping them in the garage in tyre blankets with a view to them going back on for the summer and only recently decided I would get new alloys and switch to conventional rubber.
I have been using winter tyres for the last 5 years and the spare set always sit in my garage for the off-season and I've had no problems relating from it.
If you want them, all three are yours for £150. I've got a fourth with less tread that I'm keeping on one of my old OEM alloys as a spare as obviously I'm now stuffed if I get a puncture!
Obviously, it's buyer beware, but I check my pressures once a fortnight so I would have known if anything was wrong, and had I not jumped to non run flats, they would have been back on my car this month.
Hi I've had my 2012 mini convertible for two weeks and thanks to everyone on here decided to take the plunge and change from run flats to normal tyres!!! So glad I did! What a difference. I was beginning to think I had made a massive mistake in buying this car, which had only 10k on the clock. Anyway I've 4 part worn Bridgestone potenza tyres for sale . 205/75 17 if anyone interested,
Part worn £100 for anyone who loves run flats!!, Milton Keynes/Northants border. Loving my mini
I replaced the x4 205/45 r17 run flats on my SD coupé a few weeks ago & put on Michelin Primacy 3 205/50 R17 W (93) non run flats. Makes a world of difference to the ride quality, road noise & the slight increase in circumstance now sets the speed exactly correct compared to my sat nav. It used to show 56 - 57 mph when the sat nav was at 60 mph. Now the road speed and sat nav are exactly the same.
Oh and as a little bonus, the wheel arches look a little more filled in & sportier.
