ISO: 60mm Center Caps

I just got a set of Team Dynamics Pro Race 1's and I need to find some *cheap* center caps to fit the 60mm hole that I can modify to look like the stock "MINI" center caps. These are the original TD Pro Race wheels before they were modified to accept the conical TD center cap.

Anyone got any ideas??? Thanks.

PROBLEM SOLVED:

If you have a wheel that has a 60mm opening (such as the Team Dynamics Pro Race 1's) and you want to use the stock MINI center cap you need to modify a simple $1.99 part from Lowes. This part is amazingly perfect since the outer diameter is 60mm, yet the stock cap snaps right into the 43mm opening and has a lip so that the stock cap sits flush with the new outter ring! It's totally unreal how well it fits!

CHECK IT OUT: [after and before, cutting, finished product]

THE PART:

2"x1.5" PVC electical conduit coupling [CARLON E950JH]

HOW TO:

1. sand approximately 1/8" off the end with the thin wall so the stock cap will be flush. [I marked it by holding a pen to the part and spinning it on a tabletop. Then I used a disc sander to sand to that line]

2. Cut the entire part to the depth desired for the wheel [I marked it at .5", under cut it on a band saw, then finished it with a disc sander]

3. Wrap your drill chuck with some masking tape and place part snugly over the chuck. With the drill on, and part spinning, sand perimeter of the part with 120 grit [it is a little larger than 60mm towards one end].

4. Scuff the entire part with 220 grit sand paper.

5. Paint with flat black then satin clear coat.

6. Snap in stock cap and install with silicon.

7. Now your spiffy wheels look stock. 8)
