P-21S is also a good product for cleaning wheels. Comes recommended by Porsche, BMW, and Mercedes. Of the major wheel cleaning solutions, it comes closest to being pH neutral.

Ive had similar problems with the white wheels, different product though.
Try using T cut or another fine cutting compound to get the finish back. Then when cleaning them use wax, although harder work it does remove the brake dust, even on white wheels and they stay cleaner a bit longer.

Dreadful. If you can't get satisfaction from the maker of the product, take a yank's advice and SUE them!

i usually use only the car shampoo i use to wash my car..
however sometimes when i am lazy, i use meguiars Non Acid Wheel Cleaner. i havent try any other cleaner as i am scare of wat is happening to sgray now

i only bought this beucase it says Suitable for all alloys, clear-coats, chrome, plastic and painted wheels .
otherwise i would not dare to try it ..

anyway.
hope u get a replcement or respray by the cleaner manufacture ..
i don't think MINI will replace them tho, as its not really their problem?

From the picture you posted it looks like the wheel cleaner has not been properly rinsed off and has stained the wheel. I would suggest using it again (just try one wheel to start off with) and work it into the wheel using a brush or something then wash the wheel with washing up liquid and loads of water - must be worth a try....

A Black One to a VX220 .. onto a 250bhp Focus RS . . . and now an 05 MCS

The product for Steel and Alloy wheels, is not for painted or clear-coat steel or alloy wheels. It's plain awful that proper cautions aren't on the bottle.

An all-wheel cleaner safe for painted rims should be fine. They almost all say to test in a small area first.

I routinely look for ones that are safe for even hub caps. If it won't take the cheap-o paint off a plastic hubcap, it's likely safe for the MINI rims.

P.S. I was told that the WHITE rims (dunno about the silver) are powder coated. If so, they're potentially tougher than the painted variety.

Chilli Red/White Cooper S, Sport Pack & Sunroof. Delivered June 12th, 2002!
Now with MCS Winter Tire Package.
