Where can I get centering rings from

After reading the problems with wheel wobble I checked the rings provided with my 17's and behold, they don't fit snuggly to the hub. Anybody know where i can get a set for 17" 100+ Phantoms ??
The wheel centre swears they always fit the correct ones so no use there !

I need new excuses to go for a drive !

Contact the wheel company again and don't take any crap. Tell them they sent you the *WRONG* size. Find out what the centerbore on your wheels is, and tell them again. If you tell them that it's a safety concern and if something should happen because of those wheels they would be accountable because they refused to send you the correct size.

Whatever.

if you let us know the centerbore of your wheels we might be able to find an alternate source as well!

most aftermarket wheels come in somewhat standard sizies. having just fitted a set of aftermarket wheels, i would not run without the correct rings!

Do you have very precise instruments? If not, you'd probably be better off looking it up online. If you tell me what kind of wheels you have, I'll gladly do if for you. (i have lots of free time at work)

Whatever.

Alright, I found the people to ask what the centerbore is: http://www.rimstock.co.uk/rimstockframeset.htm Sorry, it doesn't seem to be published anywhere on the internet...

Whatever.

I also need the hubcentric rings. I received Centerline RPM wheels from Mini Motorsport last week but no centering hubs for my 03 MCS. Randy is working on getting correct hubsbut he's out installing pulleys and out of touch. Calling Centerline was useless- they said they don't make hubcentric rings-they're aftermarked and knew nothing and were not helpful at all said check with retailer. Did tell me the Centerhole in all Centerline rims are 70.3MM. I understand the MINI needs 56.1mm. Is this correct??. From another thread understood that Performance tire could help but they never called back. anyone know where i can get hubcentric rings to fit my Centerline RPM rims to my MINI. Sure would love to get these puppies out of my house and on the car.

Um, most aftermarked wheel shops should have them, I'd imagine. I dont know how many of those you have in Honolulu though...

Whatever.

bgrpph,

that's a bit odd about what Centerline told you, they should be able to get you rings that fit!

Looking around the only "standard" hub ring in that size is 70MM which would leave you .3MM too small (that might be too loose).

call discounttiredirect.com and see if they can help you. they sell hub rings, just not on their website.

but if they don't have the 70.3 size, you'll have to go to a Centerline dealer (or wait for Randy).

Still surprised that Centerline wouldn't help. I was in a similiar situation with my Volks, they use a 65MM centerbore, which is quasi-un-standard. I couldn't find off the shelf rings so I had to go directly to Volk--who sold me the correct rings.

I dealt with Sean at SKperformance.com to get my wheels, and after the wobble-situation he got everything fixed and rings sent out quickly. They're about $5 if I rememer correctly. Send him an email and I'm sure he'll be more than happy to take care of you. (Plus I KNOW they have just the right size, because I have Centerline RPMs too).

Whatever.

what r the implications of not using centre rings at all??

any damage done to the rims or hub? or is it just a vibration issue at high speed?

well the weight of the car would then be supported by the wheel lugs alone. centering rings help to transfer weight through the hub of the car.

and you can get vibrations at speeds as slow as 40mph. for $20USD it's cheap insurance to use the proper fitting rings.

bgrpph, you should be successful at finding hub-rings from any quality wheel and tire store. It is probably the most common bore size in the market today. That is the main reason we do not carry them. I believe I even spoke to you on the phone. It's too bad you felt we were no help.
The bore size is actually 2.859 / 72.62mm. You had written 70.3 which is wrong and may delay getting rings.
A company called Prestige carries hub rings and is located in California. Their number is (800)854-6770
SK Performance should carry them also as Grinder stated....
Thanks
Darren

Darren, Thank you very much for the response and giving me the correct size for the centerline hub. You've made my day. I ordered hubs 70.3 x 56.15 from local shop on Sat. They called me back few hrs later to say they changed order to 72.62 x 56.15 cause another honolulu mini owner with RPMs also took his wheels in sat & they had rings that fit wheels but not correct for car. They called me to say they changed order to 72.62 x 56.15- so from your response i know i've got the correct ones coming.
You may want to look into the info folks at Centerline are giving and how they treat customers who have purchased your products. Would have been nice to have received the info you provided me in my inital call to Centerline. FYI Randy at Mini-motorsport, where I purchased my wheels, called Centerline this Monday after i called him. He was also given same round around & inaccurate info.(and he's selling lots of your product). anyway i'm frustrated at the wait but happy that correct hubs should be here this week. Mahalo

Sorry you experienced problems. We very rarely receive calls asking for rings. The wheel stores are usually equipped with accessories...lugs, v-stems, hubrings, etc. I will make sure everyone knows where to send customers.
I hope you enjoy your wheels and send us a picture when they're on.

that sell hubrings. http://www.1010tires.com/hubrings.asp
