Offline | 1.6mm across 75% of the tyre tread width (and must be around the entire circumference of the tyre). Visible tread over the remaining 25%. I think thats right, was reading a sign in Kwik Fit on Saturday, but if any UK person knows better, please shout. I've got an IAM test on Monday, and didnt fancy the examiner (serving Police Class 1 driver) looking at my tyres and refusing to allow me to take the test ! (havent got Mini yet) Im assuming there runflats ? Have you priced em up yet ? What mileage did you get out of them ? Any local tyre fitter will tell you if your tyres should be changed. |

Offline | Thanks for that..I had looked on the quick fit site before but found nothing. My Coop is a company car so I have to use Fit for Fleet....I imagine they have a good deal with the leasing company. I have just gone over 17k miles and there is still some tread available on the fronts and loads on the rear. Not sure if this is wear normal for run flats? I have seen many other threads were tyres have had to be changed a lot earlier than mine. ![]() All Cooped Up Keep on Motoring........ |

Offline | Rainbow - 6.6K on a set of pirelli euphori@ fronts! I did switch the DSC off alot though! The rears are fine and the PZero asimetricos on the front are holding up well. Runflats wear fast I think! £390 for two Euphori@s at BMW, £260 for same at Micheldever, £211 for the PZeros! |

Offline | 1.6mm I believe - check your TWI marks on the tyres... these will show up how close you are for sure, if the rubber forms a bridge you there ... Runflats wear Bloody fast! My dealer said to me this week (after I got mine checked out) that the average lifespan for runflats are around 10k miles Lowest 6k, highest 15k - these are for the fronts only though I thinkI've been *****in' all week coz I my front set of Dunlop runflats are pretty bald after 11k - guess I should be relatively happy then looking at the NordS result?? Haven't done a thorough search (as usual) but what is the vibe for ditching runflats and swapping over to another tyre - can anyone reccomend to save money but gain performance?? Sorry for diversion... ![]() |
