| Run-flat tires have sidewalls stiff enough to allow you to travel 80 miles or so at 50 mph with NO air in the tire. This stiffer sidewall also means they ride harsher than a conventional tire.
You haven't completed a Profile on your Cooper, so I'm going to assume you have 16" wheels with 195/55 Dunlop SP Sport 3000A DSST tires (or perhaps Goodyear NCT5 EMTs). I also assuming that US spec Coopers still come with a space-saver spare tire. The Tire Rack lists replacement H-rated Dunlop DSSTs at $106 and V-rated ones specially priced at $109. However, assuming you have the spare tire, you could replace the run-flats with 205/50 Yokohama AVS ES100 tires at $77 each and have a better performing and riding tire.
