Runflat tires

I am looking to change my stock wheels on my MCS. I want to get 18" rims, and am interested in 215/35/18 tires for the car. I want these in runflats. Is there a chart or something that shows which manufacturers make the runflats and the available sizes?

Slim pickings in run flats

The new 18x7 JCW alloy wheels will be shod with 205/40-18 run flats:

AFAIK, run flat choices are currently limited to 195/55-16 (1 summer, 1 all-season, 2 winter) and 205/45-17 (2 summer, 1 all-season, 1 winter).

Thanks Miniac. I stayed up most of the night looking for runflat sizes. So far, the only two manufacturers that I could confirm were making runflats were Dunlop and Goodyear. I did notice that Dunlop was offering a 225/40/18, but am unsure if that tire will fit under the wheel wells without rubbing. I do not have a lowered car. I am also assuming that all of the tires in the following list are runflats, because they are the same model # tire that came on my Mini.

I only saw one choice in an 18" tire that might fit, possibly one 19' tire that might fit, and possibly 2 choices in a 17". Goodyear only offered a 17" tire that would fit the car.

I did see some talk of Yokohama producing runflats, but found no definitive answer. So it looks like I will probably have to stick with 17" wheels. This will probably be the better answer anyway, since the 18" rims might provide too rough of a ride. If you find any more info, please post it.

Pirelli make runflats, they also come on the MCS (depending on market/choice etc.)

Dunlop run flats all have DSST (Dunlop Self-Supporting Technology) in the name, while Goodyear uses EMT (Extended Mobility Tire) in the name.

These tires are OEM on the MINI:

205/45-17 Dunlop SP Sport 9000 DSST
195/55-16 Dunlop SP Sport 3000A DSST [see Note below]
195/55-16 Dunlop SP Sport 5000A DSST (all-season)

205/45-17 Goodyear Eagle RS-A EMT (all-season) [extremely heavy]
195/55-16 Goodyear Eagle NCT 5 EMT

205/45-17 Pirelli Eufori@

Note ...

The 3000As fitted on Cooper models are H-rated, but these are also available V-rated for Cooper S owners wishing to replace their 16" all-season run flats with summer run flats.

Aside ...
