Australia Decent Tyres in AUS at last a good Price!

Well this thread will most likely be moved but hey its worth telling people.

After much searching I have found a Tyre in this country worth talking about.

Kumho have started importing the KU15 Which is the US ECSTA MX which is what all the Yanks have been raving about... well i can see why. At a little over $240 fitted for 215/40/17 im amazed at the difference on the street.. Cant wait to get to the Track.... I got mine through QuickFit.

Thats the official web site info on the tyre From Kumho Australia

thanks for the heads up - I need to buy some tyres as my run flats are damaged and I don't want runflats again... ($560 each!)

canberra cooper S,

was just looking at my tyres today and noticed the front ones have half as much tread left as the back ones!
(should rotate them i guess, with only 9500km is that normal?)

do you know if these tyes you suggest last long? i guess it depends how you drive, but from the picture it looks like they dont have that much depth in tread..

ps. what do you do if you get a flat?

cheers

Canberra Cooper S - how do they compare to Yokohama ES100's??

I'm thinking of having a "goodbye runflats" trackday in December. After several roatations, both my left side wheels are borderline, so it looks like new tyres soon. I've done 19.5k

@bkwalker - buy a can of puncture repair goo. If you get a flat (not with major damage) you put that stuff in, and it inflates your tyre. You then drive slowly to a garage and get it fixed. The Lotus Elise comes standard with one of these.

As for this thread, I won't move it but it might get merged with one of the 30 other "runflat replacement in Australia" threads after a few days when everyone has seen it - unless it takes on a life of it's own (like the hi-tech thread)

At $500 a corner, who can realistically justify runflats?? Especially when there are better tyres out there at half the price??

I honestly thought that they would have reduced in price as more and more people bought them. Unfortunately, no one is buying them because of the price

eibachs... no problems what so ever... very very happy... i only went for the 30mm lowered not the 40mm so i still have plenty of travel. because of the large amount of country road driving i have done, my shocks are just about stuffed... ( BMW still say there ok but I can feel they have gone off) so im going to get some Koni's soon. Best move you can make is a big rear swaybar... you can get a good adjustable one from Whiteline and they make a world of difference to the lowered car.

Not sure if this has been mentioned here but my front 17' run flats need replacing, the rears are still ok.
Dont want run flats anymore so can I put conventional tyres on the front and use run flats on the rear until they wear?
Any advise on which conventional tyres, where to buy from and how much would be appreciated. I apologise if this has been mentioned a squillion times but now I need tyres and I need them now.
