Offline | I am running the 7-hollies with 185/65-15 Nokian Haakapiilatta 2s with studs. These are possibly the best snow&ice tire that I have ever used. See them here: http://www.mini2.com/galleries/showp...500/ppuser/904 and here: Motor on, Dudes and Dudettes!!! '06 MCS SB/S '02 MCS DS/W (retired) |

| Alaska MINIAC | Wheels: Sport Edition F2 (Tire Rack) Tires: Pirelli Winter Carving (studded) 185/65R15 Tire on the left is my stock Pirelli Euphori 205/45R17, right is the Pirelli Winter Carving 185/65R15. Offline | 02 Cooper S with steel rim Snows-- Tire: 195/60QR-15 Michelin X-Ice Rim: 15x6.5 4-100 et42 cb56 st new My summer tires are on 17" aluminum rims. Being cheep, I ordered a set of snow tires from Tire Rack with 15 inch steel rims. This worked fine and saved me about $250 (even after the shipping). A complication was that the Lug bolts from my aluminum tires were too long. I ordered some 12x1.50 Ball Seat 39mm Shank from ezaccessory Lug Nuts Wheel Adapters Spacers Lug Bolts[/url] and cut them down to 3/4 inch of thread. I could have made them a hair shorter, but 3/4" was OK. I may have been able to get the bolts from tire rack, but I didnt ask. |

Offline | Nice side-by-side AKIndiMini, great comparison of the tires! Very different tread pattern, makes me reconsider using my Conti's year-round. Hey, I was born in Fairbanks, so nice to see a fellow Alaskan with a MINI. Minnesota has a bit of winter, but nothing like you guys! Anyway, just wanted to say hello. ![]() |

Offline | Winter Tires Back on........ Thought I was done with them for the year, but looks like we're in for another April Nor'easter. Took some pics today with the 15" steels with the the MINI center cap (thought it added a nice touch ) with Nokian Haakapiilatta snows . They are awesome! The few snow storms we had this year were a breeze. I did a photo shoot for Bavarian Autosport and I had a hard time getting car to slide for action shots! Just cleaned up my calipers and rotors last weekend, here's a few pics of them with the summers on too.... scho |
