Locking Wheel Nuts

It's less than a week away from the arrival of my MINI One

I'm getting the factory steel wheels, but have also ordered 4 R85 S-spokes and will be using my own tyres.

What should I do regarding locking wheel nuts? The MINI ones seem fairly expensive @ £14/nut, but I am happy to pay this if it's the best option.

Any suggestions? Many thanks in advance.

you might try doing a search for 'locking wheel nut' I saw at least 15 threads, one of them must have some useful info in it

I did actually do a search before I posted

From what I could gather, 'McGard' seem to be a popular choice. What I'm really wondering, though, is if it's easier just to go for the MINI ones, or whether to get a set of these McGard ones...

Thanks obehave, I think I'll go with the McGard ones, and thanks very much for the model numbers. From what I understand, the standard MINI bolts are black?

All I got to do now is find a UK supplier of McGard stuff...

Thanks, I've sent an e-mail asking for some UK suppliers.

Does anyone know any of UK suppliers?

Pratically anyone who sells alloys including big chains like Halfords. Mcgard
seem to win the autoexpress test on locking nuts/bolts every year so they
are a sensible choice.

Many thanks, I must check out Halfords then. I didn't realise they stock them!

I've obtained a list of UK suppliers from McGard, but none of them stock the black bolt.

I understand that the standard bolts on the MINI are black. Will it look bad if I have a silver locking bolt?

I've never heard of a supplier that wouldn't order what you want. Worst case you can order them direct. Summit Racing and Jegs both ship internationally. Not cheap though.

Personally I wouldn't mix the colors.

They will order, but with a 2-3 week delivery time

I'm thinking maybe I'll just go with the silver bolts (product code: 27179) and change all the other standard bolts to silver ones.
