I want to change my tires in my MC. I have the 15' with Dunlop SPs 200 Sport. These tires suck. I have on them only 5.000 kms and all that i see is the ASC light on because the car looses traction all the time. Also the Pirellis P3000 suck (tested already).
I am thinking of changing to 185/60 R15 but i didn't find any decent tire yet. I also didn't find any 175/65 R15 (what tire size is that anyway?). Any suggestions?
I don't know if there are insurance reasons or such for you not to be able to do this, but what about going up in size? I know you can find several performance tires in 195 and 205 widths that would work nicely on your stock rims. (205's can be a strech, but they do fit)
Since you are looking for performance, why not get a wider tire at the same time?
Just an idea.

"Hey, where am I going?"
"And why am I in this handbasket?!?"
The following tire sizes (listed from smallest to largest diameter) can be used:
195/55, 185/60, 205/55, 175/65, 195/60, 185/65
175/65 is the OEM fitment and the only OEM tire you haven't mentioned is the Continental ContiTouringContact CH95, which like Dunlop SP Sport 200 and Pirelli P3000 is an all season tire.
I couldn't find any tires in 185/60 listed at the Tire Rack here in the US. Your best bet is to look at 195 tires. I'm not sure what tire brands are available to you in Greece, but Yokohama AVS ES100 tires are quite popular with MINI2ers.
BTW ... your MINI Profile indicates you have 18inch Other wheels.

3 are the reasons that i don't want to change the tire size to 195/60/15
1) Fuel consumption
2)Here in Athens the roads are full of holes!!
3)Max speed will be reduced
I don't know either if the ABS and tire pressure sensors are going to be affected
None of the tire sizes listed above are going to adversely effect the ABS [which also feeds information to the tire pressure monitor].
A 185/65 tire will offer the best protection against potholes. Can you get a Bridgestone Potenza RE950 tire in Greece? This is the #1 ranked high performance all season tire on the US Tire Rack site:
Unless you're willing to go to a 195 width tire, I don't think you're going to have a decent choice of tires. With poorly maintained roads, your best bet is 195/60 and the best performance tire in this size is the Yokohama AVS ES100, if you can get it there.
I have done a little research and it seems that my only choice are the 195/60s. The only thing that i want to know is the fuel consumtion part. Is it going to be increased a lot?
