United-States Yokohama AVS100 vs. Parada Spec-2 ?

Hey all.

Changing to non-runflats. Tired of having to replace them every 2 months for bubbles in the sidewalls. After talking with the guys at TireRack, it's down to these two:

Yokohama AVS 100
Yokohama Parada Spec-2

Will be mounting to stock 17" S-lites for now (until I gets more moolah to blow on lightweight rims). Sales associate says they're pretty equal in terms of performance (survey data on the site supports this) but that the Paradas have a longer treadlife. But the Paradas give up some wet traction in favor of dry - living in the mid-atlantic region, that might be a factor. Both are within $2/tire of each other, and both seem to be pretty good values for the money, performing just as well, if not better, than more expensive tires.

So then, anyone have experience here, one over the other?

TIA.

Arrow prada spec 2's

hey... I have the prada spec 2's and if your gunna stay in philly I would think twice if its your everyday driver. These tires are dangerous in rain, snow, ice. I constantly spin my tires when its icy out, but I am from CA so I dunno maybe thats normal in ice Grip in dry conditions is wayyyyyy better then the stock run flats that came on my 17's ( pirelli )
I can NOT tell you how much nicer the ride is without run flats !!!! My radar detector does not jump off the window anymore Its GREAT. I will be moving to AZ soon, so I am very happy I went with the spec 2's !! If I stayed here in MD I would be kicking myself for getting the spec 2's.

Parada Spec2's are a great, sticky tire. I ran them for 7000 miles...but they got VERY loud after a point. They look great as well.

I put 215/40/17 Parada Spec IIs on the day I got the car and have 20k miles on them now. I live in So. Cal. so rain and snow are not an issue although they seem to do quite well in the wet. Overall, great tires...great grip and an excellent value. The tires are ready for replacement, and I'm planning on going with them again.

Take a look at the Toyo Proxie 4. I plan to put a set on in about 4 weeks or so.

Hey guys... somebody can help me? i have a cooper s with 16in. wheels, i wanna get rid of the Dunlop 4 seasons from the factory. I choose the 16 in. wheels because of the bad streets here in Montreal, the fact is that the original size is 195/55/16, i want to install 205/50/16. I am considering Yokohama AVS ES100, any suggestions?

Take a look at the Tire Statistics for conventional replacement tires. Lots of choices there. Good luck, I know how hard it is.

Australia Male
Australia ive ran bold my ES100 and i still have grip!

hey...
ive been on my ES 100 for a while and ive bald them, yet i still get excellent grip in and out of corners. during its peak performance(ie when there was grooves on the tires) i kept pushing my car to find its peak speed in and out of corners....so much fun!

i havent had much chances to try it out in the wet since Australia is in a drought( lucky me!)
