Run Flat Tyre Indicator

How does this work?

If I change to 17" wheels, from 16's, with runflates will it still work?

Thanks.

Yes, the runflat sensor is part of the ABS assembly and is independent of the wheel/tire.

..I believe you will need to re-initialise the system though.

Turn the ignition on (positon two) press and hold the button beneath the handbrake until the yellow light comes on in the speedo, then release the button, start the engine and drive off. Simple. I did it yesterday but usually have to RTFM every time I do it cos I'm getting old and forget!

You have to reset the system whenever you alter the tyre pressures anyway so its no big deal.I have got the 17 inch s spokes on my mini one I presume youv'e checked out the price of the tyres for those rims, from personal experience I know they aren't exactly cheap.Ordered my car with the 17's and then noticed an article in auto express where somebody was quoted £200 by a MINI dealer to replace one because it could not be repaired.Never really considered the cost of the tyres until that point.Unfortunately I got through a front set in 10,000 miles.Having said that i still think they look the dogs whatsits

I've ordered 17" for my cooper (19 days to go) and have to agree, they just look so right! As the tyre's on my last car (Jaguar S-type) were £200 each it ain't no different for me.

I suppose thats not so much of a shock for you then . Although I used to have to pay eighty odd quid for 13 inch pirellis on my classic mini about ten tears back, the last car I had was a Daewoo Matiz and they were £25 each so it was a little unexpected
