Space Saver Tyres R A Waste Of Space!

Never really liked the idea of space saver tyres. Always felt manufacturers who supplied them were as miserable as they get. Pay all that money for a car to end up with a useless spare wheel. Penny pinching at its worst.
Now I know I'm correct! I've had to use the space saver. The tyre pressure should be 61 psi
My tyre pump really struggles to reach that pressure. Tried to check the pressure with a gauge. Not one of the 3 I tried registered greater than 50 psi. What a great design!
You have to buy a special gauge to check the pressure. Not impressed!
Moan over.

Well, at least you've got one! Think of all these poor souls that have to make do with a can of foam and a compressor!

Scenario -

roadside puncture, 4 people and luggage on board MINI, spacesaver strapped under car.

Fairly easy job to get the spacesaver on, but where the chuff do you stick the full size punctured tyre? Leave it at the side of the road and come back later?

Cool

True ;-)
On the other hand it would be a punishment for the silly idea of carrying passengers on the back seat....it surely wasn't designed to carry humans around
And a quick solution: you can call a cab and get them to take it to the nearest tyre place for you

See - this is what happens if you use the search, I didn't even notice I was posting in a 4yo thread

Has anyone ever managed to get the space saver tyre back up into the carrier without putting the car on an inspection ramp first?!!
