United-Kingdom Please help. Tyre dealer problems.

It shouldn't be this difficult.

Does anyone know of a reputable tyre dealer in the South East of England? Like most people I want to ditch the runflats for non R-F's.

The local dealers weren't much use,
Me: 'Do you have the facilities to change runflats?'
Dealer: 'What are runflats?'

Kwik Fit: 'Runflats? What car is it mate?',
'New shape MINI'.
'Nah mate, darn't touch them new MINI's!'

A friend recommended a dealer called Jet Tyres in Essex. I called them up and they were great, gave me quotes for all the tyres I was considering, changing runflats no prob etc so went for Goodyear Eagle F1 215/45/17 at £99 a corner fitted.

Lady says she will physically check they are in stock and call me back. Great, I thought, I'll drive down tomorrtow.

Phone rings, lady tells me that the tyres are the wrong size for the car. (Goodyear don't do 205's) I say I know, but loads of people have done it, I'm not worried and will they put them on if I turn up and hand over the cash. 'Er yes, but we'll put a disclaimer on the receipt' which presumably will mean I have no comeback if the tyres are faulty.

They do Pirelli Pzeros in 205 but they are £127 a corner. Over £100 more

Does anyone know where I can get F1's bought and fitted without this hassle?

Kwik-Fit mobile (seperate from the normal kwik-fit) fitted my F1's without problem. The man came out, looked at my 205/45/17's and said "you know these are 215/40's" I said "yup" and he carried on. £110 a tyre, fully fitted, balanced etc, all at my place of work.
