| Trained Monkey | Toyo Proxes T1-S or Yokohama AVS Sport I think I'm deciding between: Yokohama AVS SPORT205/50 ZR16 87W RPB (http://www.sicherbestellen.de/cgi-bi...D35377&dsco=10) & Toyo PROXES T1-S205/50 ZR16 87W Rim-protection (http://www.sicherbestellen.de/cgi-bi...230520&dsco=10) Price difference is pretty huge and I'm cash strapped just now.... are the Toyo tyres good enough, or are the Yokos MILES better? Offline | Why /50 and 16" ? Comfort issue ? Anyhow, I was deciding between Toyo Proxes, and Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3. Ended up with Goodyear. No regrets, good for track and "normal" use. What kind of tire/tyre depends on what kind of driving you plan for it. |

Offline | AVS, Proxes, and Eagle F1 are all good tires/tyres, but they are designed for a little more than "normal" driving. If advanced driving is in your future, and my biased opinion about the wheather in the UK is correct (rain, rain, and some more rain), then I would suggest Toyo. My humble suggestion only ![]() |

| Trained Monkey | You haven't seen my "normal" driving have you? Oh, and your assumption is wrong, it's more like... rain, clouds, rain, rain, sun, rain, rain and sun, clouds..... I think the Toyo tyres seem pretty good anyway from reports on here and elsewhere, especially if the weather is not perfect. There aint no party like my nana's tea party |

| Yeah...I know !!! | Put them on begining of January 10500miles, just rotated them 15000 u can see the difference between the fronts and the backs , fronts where well worn , i believe Dinka got 4000 miles out of his fronts before needing changing , but as Mo says its how you drive it and i must admit i drive mine hard so no grumbles there. My run flats at the front lasted 10500 miles put i rather have the Toyos on then them . They really make the car feel different - steering is alot lighter too ![]() |

Offline | The 'AVS' is an exceptional high performance tyre that is reflected by the price. Usually the preserve of Supercars. The 'T1-S' came 2nd (I think) in a major performance tyre test a while back and even surprised the testers! Better value for money, if your strapped for cash, and more than adequate performance, wet or dry. Alan W |

Offline | Just put on Falken Azenis - 215 x45x16 in place of runflats on my 16" xlite rims. Car is smoother, sticks like glue. Car is slightly slower in acceleration as tires seem heavier. I'm in SoCal so am not concerned about wet weather. You might consider them. |

| MINI2 Senior | Just over 10k miles on my T1s and about 2mm left before I hit the tread markers. I've found them: Superb in the wet for both grip, braking and absolute minimal aquaplaning. Pretty poor when its cold and dry with 'spirited' driving In the Summer and dry they stick very well. Dinka had a bad batch for them to last 4k (heh) Stop ruddy rainin cos the 2nd Cam needs a thrashin ! |

Offline | The Falken Azenis is not available in the U.K. The Azenis is not suited to wet conditions and we get rather a lot of that stuff here in good old blighty! Alan W |

Offline | Paul, why don't you just settle for a Yokohama AVS ES100. It has an aggressive-looking tread design and the reviews I read are almost all positive about them. |
