Which wheel finish do you prefer? Plz participate in the poll

Hi guys, I've managed to narrow my choices down abit on wheel selection, but am now just stuck on which colour to go for below you will see 3 variants of the same wheel.

I am looking to purchase a set of 18x7.5 ET 43 ADR M-Sport Alloy wheels.

The 1st wheel is Chrome, 2nd is Hyper Silver and 3rd is Hyper Black.

Directly in the following post you will se the Hyper Black on a car, this will show you that the wheel isn't really that dark at all, more like the OZ Superleggeras.

If it helps my M.C.S is gonna either be All Black or Hyper Blue with White Roof.

Thanks for participating in advance

If any of you wanna know the ET for these wheels in the size I'm getting its 43, their 17s are predominantly ET 40.

www.adrwheels.com

I phoned up a few moments ago and asked about the wieght of the wheels, the guy (he wan't 100% sure) said they're about 21Lbs, but he will phone me back 2mrw to confirm the weight after speaking to ADR directly.

Another thing the guys said the Chromes look stunning, but there's one drawback the wheels don't like salt(UK winter means salt on our roads), and if you kerb em then they've had it, you gotta be real careful with them.

I like those 2 colours, just dunno 100% yet.

Should I go with a dark look, I'm afraid it will end up looking too dark, or just go with a nice contrasting look so they stand out nice and will compliment my Chrome wing mirrors.

Decisions Decisions.......................

Are the Hyper Silver painted or polished? If they're polished, get the Hyper Black. I had a set of polished aluminium wheels ruined by road salt in about 3 weeks.

The wheel store said they were clearcoated when I ordered them but it turned out that they were not - they were just polished. I returned them and, after a few tense words with the manager, got the same wheel in a painted finish and they've been fine ever since.

I think I like the Hyper Black the most, followed by the Silver.
The Hyper Black look really similar to the FLIK Artic-A (anthracite) 17x7s I got from EdgeRacing.com in Florida for my Pure Silver Cooper.

For my next (JCW MCS) I'm interested in the JCW wheels I've seen somewhere around here..

The chrome is a bit *BLING* for my taste but some people go for that.

Yeah the wheels are very similar, the Flicks are much more darker though.

I test drove MCS 2day again cos I was bored, and the dealership had a test car with the 18" JCW, the ride quality was awesome, didn't feel harsh at all to me. They looked real good too.

I've now racked my brains again! Arggghhhhhhh

Do I get the ADR M-Sports, JCWs or Arospeed RS-GTs?

Ok just got my email from ADR, the M-Sport in 18x7.5 ET43 4x100 weighs 22.2lbs, thats 3lbs lighter than the 17" S Spokes, 1.9lbs lighter than the R90 Cross Spokes and 1.3lbs lighter JCW 18s!

I think I'm gonna follow my heart and get these wheels now. They're £1440 with Toyo Proxes( dunno which model) and the JCW wheels are £1400 as it is.

Considering these wheels are 2 piece and the JCW 18s are 1piece, its a better bargain for your money too, eg your getting a lighter, and wider wheel for your money. 2piece wheels are usually more expensive than 1piece wheels.

Look at me I'm justifying myself this MINI lark drive me mad LoL

Shame I gotta wait all the way upto September for my MCS

Yeah I know what you mean, I'm kinda leaning towards Hyper Silver at the moment, I got 5monthes to think about it! LoL

But then again the Hyper Blacks are not as dark as some of the other Gun Metal type alloys.

I'm gonna try and get some pics of black cars sitting on the Hyper Black rims.

PS: Thanks to everyone who has participated soo far, and thanks to all who have commented, I hope more members can participate helping to give me a more representative view. At the moment the Hyper Blacks are in the lead.

Personally I like the Hyper Black. I think they look pretty mean and in day to day running would look best. I've got to say they are a really neat set of wheels.

I'd like to swap mine over at some point and have looked around, and these would certainly come into the equation having now seen them. I have a solid black JCW S as well so the Hyper Black would look well cool on that

I vote chrome to compliment the wing mirrors, get a chrome checkerboard for the roof and some door handle cups too, it will pop!

WARNING-Objects in rear view mirror have a tendency to disappear!

9/20 build '03 MCS IB/W/W, everything but the NAV & Sunroof

Wibbly I'll have these wheels put onto my MCS the day I pick it up. So will post pics, then I'm gonna get my Eibachs fitted as soon as possible even maybe before getting the wheels fitted, then gonna post some "Before and After" pics if I do get teh springs fitted at a later date.

Hope that can help you with your JCW black beast. Gotta wait till Sept till I can do any of the fitting.

Ibb, these wheels look wicked. I reckon hyper black are the business. I've just ordered a pepper white S :-) :-) for June delivery (not sure how I feel about missing out on the new spec yet), and I reckon ADR's would look pretty hot on it. Did you order direct from ADR or somehwere in the UK? Thanks.

lbb ... what color car are you getting?

I am for the hyper blacks as well ... believe me you will be glad you got them after you see how much brake dust the MCS generates

I currently have the factory 5 star rims on my MC and am looking at the Flik Wasp in anthcrite to replace them ... as i like it when my current wheels are covered in grey brakedust

I do like those ADR's .. very sweet!

Nice one Miniac, when I was on the phone to the guy from Eastside Performance (the only shop in the UK who seel ADR) the guy was confused when I said Hyper Silver, he said we have Hyper Black, Titanium and Chrome.

Soo the Hyper Silver is also known as Titanium.

Aurel I'm still abit unsure what colour MCS I want to get, but at the moment I'm goin all black and darkened glass and chrome wing mirrors. But I wouldl ike to be able to see the Hyper Blue and Black Eyed Purple in the flesh, cos I quite like the those colours. I will see them when I go to the NEC Motorshow in June.

F.A.S you can get these wheels from http://www.eastsideperformance.co.uk/ or you can ring them up on 0870 707 7775. The wheels in 18x7.5 for either HB or HS aka Titanium without tyres cost £900 with Toyo Proxies £1440 and the wheels are a reasonable wight at 22.2lbs.

The USA price ranges from $1000-£1600 thats with tyres, apparently Yoka Paradas.

Hope that helps
