Please post tyre fitters you've had good experiences with (remove/replace runflats).

Seems to be a common issue, people find it hard to find places comfortable, confident, or skilled with the fitment and/or removal of runflat tyres.

Please use this thread to place the names and general locations of tyre fitters you have personally have had a good experience with. Might also help if you say if it was replacing runflats with new runflats, or swapping them out for new non-runflat tyres.

Micheldever Tyres - in the village of Micheldever Station, just south of Basingstoke off the A303

I've not tried them for runflats though - but they have always been superb with everything I've ever taken to them (from the cheap and cheerful to the more exotic), quick, efficient and cheap. Autocar and other car mags based in the south recommend them too.

Also very honest (eg local exhaust place quoted £160 to replace the exhaust on my girlfriends Ka - took it ti Micheldever, turns out only needed backbox, change from £40 )

the only national chain i've found that will remove run flats is ATS Euromaster. I used 2 of there centres - one to repair a puncture & one to replace 16" runflats with the same, both with no problems

Called in to Rydale of Cardiff short notice on Fri Afternoon, after noticing my 17" Run Flats were illegal. Heading off to the North East of England. They not only supplied new Pirrelli run flats there and then but were very fast and efficient, 10 out of 10 for excellent service, was on my way the same afternoon.

Micheldever tyres. Checked before I went and was told they had done lots of runflats
and it wouldn't be a problem. On the day everything went well, they run the place like
a miltary operation to get cars through quickly which is why they are so cheap. They
did however only have to remove my runflats as I replaced them with conventional tyres.

Interesting, as my nearest ATS Euromaster said he couldn't do runflats...

Anyway I just got a puncture repaired in my 16" Goodyear at Gil's Motor Factors, Colston Road, Bishopbriggs, Glasgow.

Charged me £20 including valve and balancing, and the guy was honest enough to admit it was normally £10 - but this 'required more care and attention'.

Hello all,

Well I can reckomend a Place in Chester (North Wales) if anyone wants their Runflats removing and Non Runflats replacing. I had 2 fronts on mine done today and they were done within 15 mins with only a minor scuff to the Rim.
They were no Questions asked as on another place I went to they wanted to Phone MINI UK up for approval to fit a Non Runflat to a Runflat Car.

You could hardly call it a scuff, It might even of already been there in the First place, But what i meant was-No lasting damage like some of the other stories I have heard.

John Wood Tyres, Hereford (located in the cattle market).
They have replaced runflats (17's) with new ones and are capable of repairing them, just not on my last puncture !

ATS euromaster branches NO longer will repair RUNFLAT punctures they have had a change in policy.
