You can't order this combination from the factory so it's down to deals either privately or with the dealer.

Our MCS came fitted with X-lites and at the time we were pondering alternatives so our dealer did make us an offer for them. He normally has a few wheels stacked in the corner of the showroom that I imagine he has sourced in this way. Maybe yours can come by a set of X-lites for you the same way?

Sorry, but what I didn't say was that the X-lites are now on my wife's MC.

She was so desperate to get a car rather than wait for an order to come through that she bought one already in stock, which had S-spokes. They seemed a waste on a car which was going to be used for a driving school car so I swapped them onto the S.

There are quite a few threads in the forum about X-lites (and 5 stars) on the MCS and people seem happy with them.

There are occasionally threads about wheels for sale so one way round it might be to buy some and sell your S-spokes - see http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthread.php?t=63045

I'm picking up my new Cooper tomorrow, oredered it with S-Spokes and then traded them in with my dealer + £140 to get X-Lites instead.

I know some will think silly but I saw an EB/W Cooper S tonight with silver X-Lites, looked fantastic compared to what my car looked like at the dealers on Thursday (went to see the car and get pics just as it came off the transporter!)

Some will think I shouldn't have paid but the X-Lites are actually more expensive than the S-Spokes.

X Lites £950
S Spoke £810

I had already got the S Spokes with the Chili pack for £370 so only had to pay the difference of £140 to get the white X Lites.

I can't wait to see it with white X-Lites!

Here's a picture of the car with S-Spokes from factory, I'll post pics of the car with X-Lites soon.

White X-lites

Right. my 5-stars have gotta go, I find them a bit insipid, practically every MC you see has them round here.

So now I'm thinking - White X-lites! I know they are going to be a pain to clean, here's an artist's impression on a B/W Cooper S (mine's a B/W Cooper with bonnet stripes, am going to get S sills) What do you think about this combo and do they really cost that much?!

Looks like you had the same idea to me, around here everyon has the S-Spokes, I wanted the X-Lites, think they look far better on EB/W than the S-Spokes (I think in white on an EB/W car the S-Spokes look like Fisher Price made them, X-Lites look far better)

I made this decision at the time of ordering, the dealer allowed me the price the S-Spokes are on a new car £810 against the X-Lites which he says cost him from the parts guys £950.

So I ordered the S-Spokes for cheaper using the Chilli pack, got them for £360 then paid the difference from £810 to £950, meaning it cost me altogether £360+£140 for the alloys.

I know it is slightly confusing but think about it and you'll understand!

The only thing is another dealerships parts section quoted me 'just under £800' for white X-Lites with runflats, including fitting, allignment everything.

My dealer argues that the X-Lites are £950 from parts so I couldn't be bothered to argue over it. I still haven't got the car as I haven't finalised finance but I went to see the car the other night and the X-Lites look fantastic!

To answer your question X-Lites cost me £950 but another dealer Bavarian Mini Belfast quoted me 'just under £800'

S-Spokes as common as muck now too, whereas X-lites are rare and even rarer in white! But £800 quid! the official website quotes £88 each I guess this is without tyres? And as my car is new, suppose they can just swap these? Must give my dealer a ring. Looks like I'm going to have to start saving.

You think £800 is bad, I'm paying £950!
