Firstly I am new on here about 5 minutes new in fact.
My girlfriend has a Mini Cooper S which she has had from new since March 2003, however the stiffness of the ride on the car has taken its toll with her. She has the sports suspension.
She loves the car but needs a solution to the problem.....I keep hearing that the run flat tires have a big part to play in the annoyance. Would simply changing the tires make a significant amount of difference to the ride ??
Has anyone found the run flats to be a problem and what difference did changing them make ???
I have noticed more as time goes on how jarring the ride can be.... I switched to 18's non runflats and its much better, my other half has an S as well and hers is much more harder riding....
non run flats will make a big difference to the 17's, just go for a decent tyre... like Toyos of something.... one other thing in May 2003 they changed the damper settings, making the ride smoother, mines a June 03 car so it has those revised dampers, your girlfriends wont have, that could be making it seem worse....
Oh and welcome !!!

welcome to mini2. i have changed my 17" runflats to 17" toyo ts-1 tyres. the ride is a lot less stiff and i find that the tyres actually grip better than the standard runflats.
