Tire pressure monitor

What does everyone do about the tire pressure monitor when fitting aftermarket wheels and tires?

It stays the same as normal-Apart from resetting it when you put the new Wheels/Tyres on-The sensor I believe is linked with the ABS unit?

The only way it's an issue is if you have to change tire like I do. One side at a time.
I have a steep gravel driveway so it's a bit unsafe for jacking so I have to do mine in the street.. I change one side and then drive the car enough to turn it around and park oposute side to the curb. Then change the other side.
Usually this triggers the warning light about 3-4 miles down the road next time I drive. Especially since I always forget to try the reset as soon as I'm done swapping tires

If you can do all 4 tires at once it isn't a problem. At least it hasn't been for me the couple times I could do it that way.
I swap tires regularly for auto-x.

Just reset the system like you should do after you inflate your tyres etc.

It is independent of wheels/tyres as it is part of the ABS system.

Cool. Thanks for the info. I thought it had a sensor on the wheel inside the tire like some systems do. This makes things much easier
