Wolfrace wheels

Just thought I would share this, I bought a set of Wolfrace "Kendo" wheels for my S.

They looked really good on the car but unfortunately they only lasted 6 months before the lacquer came of the polished rim.

I brought this to the attention of the garage who sold me the wheels who asked me to take photos of the wheels which were sent to wolfrace.

After 2 months and a number of phone calls i have thrown in the towel and am having the wheels refurbished by a local specialist.

Wolfrace line was I must have kerbed the wheels, and why did I leave it so long to report the problem. The would have inspected the wheels but I didn't have my old wheels to put on my car (Wolfrace warranty dept thought it unbelievable I had sold my old wheels !!)

The garage (Foxhunters of Whitley Bay - stopped returning my calls in-fact never returned a call, said they could only help if a new customer came in and after purchasing a set of new wheels left the old set which I could use while Wolfrace inspected mine. All this assuming the correct wheels ever turned up.

Beware these new polished rim wheels, also warranty is a matter of luck.

that's some tale of woe, especially after so long and no one doing anything to help. So where are you at now? are you stuck with 4 damaged wheels then? what a crap situation!

Sorry to hear the news about your wheels and lack of the supplier/maker holding up there hands....if you were such an individual case then it wouldnt have done them any harm to replace the wheels??? Not sure why they thought you'd left it so long....if they didnt start looking the state they are until 6months has gone then your not gonna report it before when there is nothing wrong with them....also how could they be kerbed in the place they are, sounds like feeble excuses to me.

Hope you didnt use any acid based products like wonder wheels on those type of wheels...as you probably know this can damage wheels with a finish like yours.

Dont understand why they were suprised that you had got rid of your originals, alot of people do this to fund the new wheels they buy.

You could have them on the sale of goods act..the wheels arent up to standard

They will probably hold up better after a refurb...sounds like yours slipped through the quality test.

Hi Mickabi, I check your photo, it shows the liquid clear coat is peeling off, and some dirt or brake dust, or salt remain on it.

So, I was wondering, what is the reason ? to cause clear coat failed in 6 month. if I could find out the cause, then maybe could determine the responsibility.

this wheels has polished Lip, so it will have 3 type of finished option with it: 1. Powder Clear Coat, cost more and last longer. 2. Liquid Clear Coat, cheaper but afriad the salt. 3. polished Lip with no clear coat with it.

Allow me to focus on 6 month: if this 6 month is between summer to fall, then maybe we could examine more details, to determine the cause of clear coat failed, including the possibility of paint quality issue or claim issue.

However, if this 6 month is between winter season, then I guess it's no room for claim, since too many things can go wrong, which will cause the clear coat to ruin. For example: on winter season, many street with snow, and the goverment will put salt on the street to absorbe heat, which could melting the snow, and inproved the road condition and better safty driving. the price for doing this is salt, is to ruin the liquid clear coat in few month. By the way, powder clear coat will ruin too, on second or third winter..... only the matter of time.

people may suggest: use water to wash off the salt and dirt, after each driving. so the paint will last longer. But, I was wondering, when winter snow season, almost freeze cold, and who will crazy enough to go outside and do car wash ?????
