Bye Bye Runflats Hello Goodyear Eagle F1s

Got my Dunlop sport RFs replaced today for 215/35 18 - Goodyear Eagle F1s, the difference is fantastic more grip less road noise and a better ride despite the slightly lower profile.

If anyone is looking for a North West tyre fitter I chose SelectaTyre they have a few branches I used the one in Macclesfield as they had special equipment to deal with runflats without damaging the alloys. And plus the Nitrogen filled the tyres as standard! Great service looked after the wheels and car, throroughly recommended.

I am seriously thinking of doing the same after going through 3 sets of fronts in 18k. What was your tyre rate like on the 18" RF's ?????

How are you providing for punctures?????

I would like to know this too Im thinking of swapping to non-runflats

A friend of mine had a Lupo GTi and VW provides a kind of foam filler with them to repair punctures, I presume you are using 1 of these.

I got about 8000 miles out of my dunlop runflats, mainly coz i destroyed the front set at a trackday ( rears are fine )

As for punctures well i have 2 large cans of Holts Tyre Weld from Halford in my boot, and a compressor.

The eagles rock so much better grip and ride quality!
