United-States

after one of the worst days of my life I also scuffed my Silver alloy wheel the V-spokes... I would second the question on the 'least expensive way to fix a scuff" I have read about paint to put on it, but it seems to be only in the UK...any USA solutions since it would be cheaper to buy a wheel than fly to the UK to buy the paint.

Depends where you live, but I'm sure most alloy wheel places do it.

After kerbing one of mine I rung up the MINI garage here in Reading, they don't do it themselves, but send all the alloys that they need doing to Elite Wheels (if you're anywhere near here it's on Bridgewater Avenue, off Portman Road).

They send them off to somewhere in Tumbridge Wells, takes about five days and costs £70. Bit annoying having to shell out so much money after such a stupid mistake, but the wheel looks perfect now, good as new, you'd never know anything had happened to it!

I badly curbed one of my web spokes a couple of weeks ago. After a week of trying to get hold of my local chipsaway, I ended up taking it to my dealer. They have someone come up from Bristol every wednesday just to repair alloys. He charged £75 and even took out anther small scratch on an other wheel. The wheel looks brand new.

Cheers

On mine they've grinded it down and repainted. Bit annoying because it doesn't look exactly like the others but if you look at it on its own you can't tell!

Thats what i thought they might do. When I asked my dealer to look at repairing mine they said because the damage is farily light that the repair work would be more obvious then the damage

Try ringing Cotswold Mini on 01242 587029 and ask for the bodyshop, and inquire there.
I hope that helps you Iain.

When 2 of my wheels became damaged (I wasn't driving......I'll say no more!) I picked up a spare set of new S spokes from the forum that had been upgraded upon delivery of a brand new MCS. I had my tyres swapped over on those rims only and consequently ensured a perfect colour/finish match with the original wheels. This worked out at about £70 each wheel but at least I have spares off the car to get refurbished next time (!)

It does however mean that I currently have 2 more brand new silver S spokes in the garage - I might be persuaded to part exchange a lightly kerbed wheel (+cash!) for a new one as I'm probably going to get the spare set refurbished in a different colour anyway. PM or email me if you want more information.
