New Wheels Fitted Pics Coming Soon. 18inch Centrelines/Toyos....

18" Centreline Storms (18lbs per rim)
18/215/35 Toyo Proxis Tires (20lbs per tire)
I have a 05 Mini Cooper S Convertible and had 17" 20.6lb factory rims and Dunlop runflats 21.8lbs per tire.
My thoughts on the factory setup: It sucks, the rims are heavy the tires have no grip and I have had a better ride from a train.
My thoughts on the new setup: Ride quality is greatly improved and grip....Hmmmm I think it has improved, in acceleration my tires still slip. (I have no LSD) Cornering is greatly improved while steering response has been decreased. It seems slow, almost sluggish. Changes the handling and feel of the car. To be honest I don't think the car is designed for 18s, It now has lost it's Mini flavor. (Although I still love it)
It looks incredible, almost cartoonish. I love the black with the high polish. If I could have done it again I'd have went 17 or even 16inch. I will probably buy a set of SSR Comps in 16inch Black Anthracite. They are light as F**K and are strong as an ox. They will be my go fast rims while the Centrelines will be strickly for show.
My opinion, drive someones mini with 18s before you buy a set and if you drive the car hard then stick with the smaller sizes.
That's my 2cents or 2pence if I was British..... ;-)

Good plan. Several of us have had our Centerlines crack under track use. Some have just had them crack.
