Just realised the only thread about this was in motorsport short notice but well you might need something to do on Saturday or Sunday.
Usual Format tickets are £12 off the web so maybe £15 on the door. no parade this year or they probably forgot to tell us about it if there is so no records to be argued about yawn.
Anyway i am there Sunday White clubman SG plate come say hello. A few people said they would be coming in the motorsport thread but thought i would inform those of you who dont venture in there.

Hey Shaun, thanks for the post on the other thread, ive just been looking round on the internet and on the mini challenge website, it says that the donnington park weekend is going to be promoted as the Dunlop fesitval and says that the record attempt will be challenged again, fingers crossed this is right. Cant wait, ill have a lookout for the clubman too.

Subject: Record Attempt or Parade Laps at Donnighton Park
Importance: High
Hi,
Trying to find out if there is a record attempt or parade laps on Sunday at Donnighton Park.
I have noticed that most people, on other forums, that were going, have now decided not to attend due to the fact there is no parade lap or record attempt.
Shame as last year was so much fun, and a great day out.
Sad but proves my point about last year there was more bickering over who had most cars and wether it was official than there was discussion on the racing. I have been to a lot of events and they uaually involve a long drive so seeing somebody turn up get free stuff and a go on track then drive straight out of the gate at the end of it made me bloomin annoyed.
On a positive note the racing has been superb this year maybe they are paying attention?
I'll be travellling up Saturday and going to the Racing Car museum on the afternoon. The MINI challenge is the first race on the Sunday so I would have had a really early start from home to get there for that. Also disappointed that there's no parade lap record attempt. Last year's was good fun.
True it is annoying but to be honest like shaun says it is just going to be a great days racing. Theres a lot more to do rather than going on track, loads of other minis to look at, garages to see plenty of things.
Its the notice board from castle Combe in the Mini Challenge area given the History of some "lively" racing and the huge coming together at Croft I thought it was funny.
Loads more pics on the link under my signature or 2008 Great & British Castle Combe - a set on Flickr
I'm planning on taking the family on Sunday. The last time we went to anything with MINIs involved, it was the first ever race in the MINI Challenge series back in 2002, and my own Cooper S was just a fortnight old.
Is this really a Dunlop-sponsored event? Dang - wish I'd found out sooner. Someone connected with Dunlop's PR department owes me a bit of a favour. Last time I went to the races, it was a British Touring Car event, Vauxhall were lifting the Championsjhip that weekend, and I was owed a favour by Vauxhall's event co-prdinators. Let me say that watching the racing from the VIP section of the corporate hospitality suite is a mighty fine way to spend the day
pah i would rather be down by the wire with the paying punters
The lack of any kind of PR seems to be a common theme this year with info particularly hard to come by. Donningtons hardly awash with vip areas so save the favours for somewere like brands or Rockingham (next rounds).
Reckon we should try and at least park together if theres no official area then the field area between the off road course and the craner curves veiwing area is probably were I will dump my clubman before running of camera in hand 9 oclock start and all that
Excellent days racing as promised. One of the best line ups so far.
Nice to see so many Minis around a total of 3 GP,s just the one Clubman though.
Some awesome cars dotted around the paddock too.
Now begins the sifting through the pictures.
Oh and hard lines Keith cant win em all.
Cool Pictures.
That black S with the big scoop was at combe for the last round.
There were some great cars i spotted a GT2 at the back of the garages and an Allegro estate of all things.
I heard you talking about a contact after the first race but didnt realised they had DQ'd you till the second race when it came over the tannoy.
What happened in the second did the car go out of sorts after Aston Blake got in your way?

Yes ...a puncture ! In the 2nd race on Sunday I had my offside front contacted by the same car I had contact with in the 1st race when he lunged down the inside at the chicane. It took the valve completely out of the front right tyre and rearranged the tracking. . Just not my weekend!!!!!
I was so annoyed I nearly just parked it in the gravel at Redgate but in the end decided to drive through it and get back to the pits
Right thats why you went off then I do have a sequence of you hitting the back of "Aston Blakes" car but they werent great pics might put them in my Mini2 gallery so you can have a look.
So that was the 2nd race? The only contact I had in that race was when Joel Wroe-Johnson took a lunge down the inside at the chicane . Aston never mentioned that one after race 2. I`m sure he would have if I`d nerfed him out of the way. There`s so much ill feeling in the paddock now its like a load of schoolgirls *****ing. Who did what to whom etc . everybody`s at it ....its pathetic .
Shame really as the driving standards have improved this season. Might be fair to say some people are taking it too seriously and some of the teams are getting too big. If you nudge me I will get all my mates on you etc. From were we were stood it looked like you hit him but he might have just spun dont remember any sound when it happened.
Keith it wernt you that hit aston! It was Joel (supposedly) on the inside
Happy days
Wadd
