Mini Connected app and/or CarPlay in JCW 2017?
Hi everyone, I thought I’d already posted this here but apparently not. If I have - apologies. I’ve searched this forum and couldn’t find this issue so again forgive me if I’m repeating something that has been done to death.
Ok. I have a lovely JCW 2017 model that is fully loaded. I’ve downloaded the Mini Connected app and for the life of me cannot get it to work. I’ve tried entering my VIN manually as well and get told that my car isn’t recognised. Apple CarPlay won’t work either — endlessly searches for my car.
Bluetooth is working fine - car paired with my iPhone X currently running iOS 12 (but this issue happened also with all iOS interactions previously.
What am I doing wrong? I have tried messaging Mini here in Australia thru Facebook as well as emailing the developers of the App but I am met with a deafening silence.
It’s galling to see Mini advertised here as working with both these apps when I cannot get it to work and I cannot get support. I was told when I bought my little beauty that these apps would work (July 2017) and I’d love to be able to use Apple maps.
The dealership just shrugged their shoulders.
So here I am — hoping someone smarter than I could get Mini Connected working in their car.
