Just picked up my new AB Dooper from the dealer (YAY!!)

While there we were chatting about the Clubman and how I kinda wish I'd gone for that if only it'd had a door on the passenger side too.... he said "not to worry, next year the new 4WD 4door (6 including the 2 at the back) version is coming in."

He couldn't be more specific about exactly when next year, but said its def due then That's 4 proper doors too, not 2 like the current clubman's suicide door.

Next year? So that means the new Cabrio and Crossman in the same year?

My new Cabrio was meant to be my 50th birthday present, but now it will appear about 8 months too late

I am still working on converting the wife to a MINI too, but she is not sold on the Clubman - maybe a Crossman will do it for her...

That isn't a second car - it is part of the same car. They are going to produce a Bendi-Clubman which will be 30 feet long to improve the carrying capacity. But it will still only have one door on the left-hand side......

If you know how many MINIs you have you don't have enough ...

Just curious, am I the only one who thinks that a Mini SUV is the complete wrong direction for this brand? Doesn't it kind of defeat the purpose of being a Mini by turning it into an SUV?

I don't know, seems odd, not liking that idea. We should be making less SUV's in this world, not more.

You could well be right! Maybe what we need is a mini MINI, not one that's grown bigger?

I think the MINI SAV is a 100% guaranteed hit, and it will do wonders for MINI sales, the timing will be perfect.

I agree with Paul - the previous 5 years have seen the 'soft roader' sales climb, models like the Freelander, X3, Tiguan and others all enjoying success.

But, all these cars still have higher than average emissions, and with the soaring fuel costs, and pinching economy, there will be a gap in the market in the next 12 months for a MINI SUV with excellent economy, low running costs, high residuals, BMW brand affiliation, and chic image

It will be a hit
