New model ideas

I was just thinking, as they now have a Mini One, One D, Cooper, Cooper D and Cooper S....does this mean a Cooper SD could appear??? And then maybe an even quicker "S" version (but not john cooper works) like a rear wheel drive "S"......"Cooper SR"...it's got a ring to it, maybe i'm just thinking out loud.

Just a thought!!!! Would make sense if it had more horse power than the standard S, these cars just now that are front wheel drive all you hear is that they cant get the power down so it's wasting all the horse power it has. But of course still have the standard S available!!!!!!

Was just letting my mind wander....

I think you're mistaking the MINI for something else.

You cant say stuff like that realy can you , we all drive bmw minis and they are far far from what the orginal mini was thats just as much sacrilege .
Its not small its not cheap and affordable to the average person and defintly not easy to fix and run. Its not a case making a cheap car thats as much fun to drive as an expensive sports car any more because you go and buy a sports for the small fortune minis cost.
If a Rwd mini would be sacrilege then thats pretty much admiting the whole bmw mini idea/s sacrilege as its nothing like the old mini.
I love the fact its moved on but as nice as every new mini is its not exciting when they bring a new mini that is practicly the same as the last model.
or a one that thats just the same apart from its slower .

Now if they bought out a mini with mid engined supercharged rwd m3 engine with 500 bhp with big flared sides and ducts in the sides and made it look a racing car .That would be exciting Aslong as it makes you feel 12 again its good idea to me .
Its bmw there boring they never realy do anything exicting any more and if they do the nick the idea from someone else there all grown up .
We need somthing that going to make people sit back and be stunned like VAG made the concept of the mid engine w12 golf And the bugatti veyron , renualt made the v6 clio just stuff like that.

A RWD Mini just would not work.
At high speeds it will handle like the BMW 1 series and the VW golf w12 concept through the corners.
short wheel base and rear wheel drive never works very well.
On the other hand a mini with a four wheeel drive system like the audi quattro would be cool and even more grippy!!

No, no it isn't.

The new MINI does share a good amount of "Mini character". It is NOT like a BMW whatever others may say, I don't really like BMWs that much, not the "run of the mill" models, but even a "run of the mill" MINI has a lot of appeal and driving pleasure to offer.

grumble grumble moan moan...

Aren't they already considering a performance diesel version? Thought I'd read something about them fitting a diesel engine from the 1 series, or was that just AutoExpress fantasy stuff....
