2004 Mini r50 Electrical

Hi All.

Recently my mini started playing up , the instrument lights and noise would not work when the indicators were on ( but the actual indicators still worked). the speedo and revo back lighting does not work , The lower panel and heated screen switch did not light and when turned off and locked , the rear lights stay on.

Changed body control module 3 times , fitted 2 different main ecu units and 2 alarm module units .
Cleaned and checked all plugs , fuse boxes and earth points .

Worked well for 2 days , and then did it again.

sometimes it resets to working by itself , then goes off again .

Any ideas anyone , as I am at the end of my tether with this problem .
I have not found anything that looks obviously broken.

Thanks
Duncan.

It does sound like an earthing issue. I would check around the steering column area for earth straps and make sure they are sound.
