United-Kingdom 2016 MINI Clubman

I was one of a small group of people who got a close-up look at the new Clubman yesterday.

Yes, it's big. It's the same size as a Golf/A3. However, it has all the MINI ingredients. I think they have done a great job on the exterior styling; it looks better than the F56 hatchback in my opinion. The interior is different too, as the dash still has the MINI design touches but the layout of more practical as it makes use of the cars extra width.

I have a few 'exclusive' pieces of news about unique features on the Clubman, but I'm going to wait and see how much interest there is on this forum before I post.

In the meantime, here a some pictures from WhatCar in case you haven't seen it yet:

Does that include info about the "please look at me, I'm somebody" light in the roof aerial?

Yes, it does! The red alarm light is on the roof.

Other interesting bits:
  • There will be SatNav as standard on all UK models.
  • The barn-style doors open when you wave your foot under the rear bumper.*
  • When you unlock the car it projects a MINI logo on the ground by the front door from underneath the wing mirror.*
* These may be options at additional cost.

The Configurator is up for the Cooper S
MINI UK | Design Your New MINI

There are two new colours exclusive to the Clubman; Melting Silver and Pure Burgundy.

The one I saw was a Cooper S in Melting Silver, cream lounge leather, and the JCW body kit.

My "new" Red F54 Mini Cooper D Clubman arrived on 23 Nov 2016 to replace my 2012 version

It is a vast improvement on the previous model.

Yes it is bigger, but when driving it seems only a little bit larger.

Loving the switchable driving modes

F54 Clubman

Got up close and personal on a recent Plant Oxford Tour (I can really recommend this tour - brilliant, really interesting for any MINI fan). It is vastly superior in styling to the F56/55. Outside, the unfortunate rear lights are gone, the Cooper S front still looks slightly 'off' under the grille, but the huge improvement is inside, where the mess that is the F56 has now been properly sorted. The alarm light on the aerial fin is not going to the USA, apparently they think that if a row of Clubmans were all parked up, an airliner might mistake it for a runway.....(worrying). Just need a proper 250bhp plus, 4WD JCW now, and I'll be putting in my order

UNLESS YOU LIVE LIFE ON THE EDGE, YOU ARE TAKING UP TOO MUCH SPACE

Picked up my F54 THUNDER GREY Clubman S -Launch Addition on 3/31... "Amelia Hermoine"

She is superb. All Mini but 'Americanized' in its size... But Don't worry purists... it is MINI.
The Sport Mode in the S really is the convincer.... if you do not move your foot on/off the throttle when in GREEN MODE and change to MID then on toe SPORT your litterly can feel the HP almost double with each change... its amazing... I'd challenge any Mini One S to a side by side race/circuit and my money is on the 'not-so-mini' 2016+ Clubman S. Love Love Love this Mini beast in a station wagon clothing...
