R55 electrics Keeps playing up!

Hi All,

Mini R55 Clubman 2008. Recently I'm getting some annoying things going on with the car as follows,

1) Fuel gage dimming and brightening up again, and i mean really dim and really bright! Keeps doing it randomly.
2) Tail gate, seem to just randomly stop working, with or without the key, it won't open manually by the actual handle, and when i put the key back in the holder and restart the car and then take the key back out it works again! As if it reset's itself in a way.
3) stop start function stops the engine as it should, but it restarts it again after 2-3 seconds, sometimes it won't even do that, just keep running, without it cutting out at all..?

Any idea anyone please?

It is driving me mad

Thank you in advance

Sounds like your car needs a new battery. These cars electrics are very sensitive and if your battery is weak then this will cause all sorts of weird and wonderful electrical problems!

As Sean said, go and have your battery Load Tested (don't just charge it up and put a multimeter on it) and make sure it has the CCA capability as stated on the battery. If you need a new battery and your car has IBS, then don't forget to have the ECU reset for the new battery.
