MPG or Miles Left on trip computer

Can anyone tell me how I view this on my trip computer as I only get the 'time and date' and 'speed' display when I press the left stalk button? Ive got a 2008 model cooper d. Heard you may need to unlock these features.

Sounds like you don't have the trip computer (OBC) if pressing the indicator stalk button doesn't produce this data.

Adding the OBC is a Mini retrofit extra (part number 62102219758) and a dealer will charge something over 150 to do it.

thanks for the reply. I do have the OBC however it just doesn't show me 'miles left in the tank' or MPG and only speed, date, milage and time. Thought maybe there was a setting to unlock this or something. Strange

Well, that certainly sounds like you don't have the OBC. All models with or without the OBC have the display and the indicator button stalk and the ones without the OBC behave as you describe.

Confusingly, even cars without the OBC will display miles to empty once they are down to two carrots on the fuel gauge or less (ie, in red).

My Cooper D also only showed the same I doin the BCbutton. I took it to a mini specialist and they hooked it up to the computer, updated & full OBC now works showing everything. 42 and only took 10 mins!

Very pleased with it - I hope this helps

Hi Lee,

Which BMW specialist did you go to as my Mini Sytner dealer in Coventry does not know how to do this.

Regards and thanks,
Nik
