cheers again for the reply.

today i changed (as i had a spare) check valve, sensor and pipe from servo and still the same i will have to find someone to bleed brakes and abs as everything else has been done now.

just a quick question every time i've read up about air in brakes it always says soft spongy pedal feeling not hard pedal??

do you know of any other way to check the servo as i've tried the tests from online ref pumping pedal turn engine on pedal should slowly go down and mine does do this.

cheers

From everything you have said in all your other posts everything checks out re your components and its hard diagnosing faults without physically seeing the car but my hunch is still air in the system

well i got to the bottom of the issue

it turned out to be brake servo even though the tests followed from online all pointed to it working as it should, i manage to swap it out without having to remove the master cylinder so saved having air in the system.

on the test drive brakes worked spot on nice light pedal and stopped on a half penny but my foot kept slipping on the clutch pedal so further investigation i must of knocked the clutch master cylinder and now thats leaking , i hate cars

You might need to straighten up a pipe coming out of the master cylinder if its been bent to make the seal nice and tight again

i didnt get a chance to do it today but was a good job i didn't. i managed to have a proper look and when i split the master cylinder from the servo the feed pipe for the clutch master must of popped out so looks like all i have to do is fiddle about and put it back on the master cylinder, obviously the clutch needs bleeding now but least i never got a replacement clutch master

been looking on you tube and a chap reversed bleed the clutch with a pump oil can so i might have a go at that tomorrow, again weather permitting.

ps if anyone reading this needs new seals for the vacuum pump go to citreon part number p459941 £10 compared to £30 at BMW

ok what a mission to get the feed pipe back on, in the end i had to take servo off again then the rubber gromit/bung around the feed pipe and clutch pipe pulled that away from body then i was able to push the feed pipe back on to clutch master.

did the trick with oil can and reverse bled the clutch and all seems ok.

now all i have to do now is put all the plastics back in place .

thanks again for all the advice SeanC very much appreciated
