Fitting DRL's to car with no fog lamps

Just wondered if anyone has retro fitted there mini with DRL's to a car that did not have fog lamps? If so can you point me in the right direction. Everything I find says cars fitted with fog lamps.
Cheers.

This is a regular thread question. And I'm never sure why folk seem to obsess about it TBH.
On my Gen1 R53 with fogs I just changed the side/indicators to halo LED units. In addition to getting rid of the horrible 'fried egg' look, they are extremely bright. So if I consider conditions require it I simply turn on my sidelights. OK rear lights come on which with the DRLs on my C30 Volvo they don't. But hey, does the job. And don't leave them on when leaving the car because it buzzes. Job done.

Mine is a 2009 R56 dooper. NigelK do you still install the parking bulb on those to fill the void?

If you delete your fog lights then I'd imagine the car will fail it's MOT. I just leave my headlights on all the time when the car is in operation. My front side lights are led anyway

Not tested on MOT as they are optional, only rear is a legal requirement.

On a Gen1 there wasn't a void to fill. The halo LED unit I replaced the complete standard unit with has the holder for the indicator bulb in there, exactly like standard. The halo LEDs ARE the parking lights. The Gen1 has the fogs below seperately in the lower bumper.
Clearly the R56 arrangement is different and I don't know anything about them. Looking at the Lohen offering I'm thinking that side, indicator and fog are all in the one housing in an R56??
MINI LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) (Gen 2)
I put chromed orange bulbs in so they don't look orange when they are off.

Yes @NigelK the fog/ side light is one unit on the second Gens. All my cars have LED side lights and are just as bright at DLR's however I will eventually upgrade my R50 to the Halo set up but atm I have the old classic to sort out.
