Cooper D Automatic 2.0 Engine vs Cooper SD Engine
Around 2 years ago my wife bought a convertible automatic Cooper D in the UK, and being a car nerd I'm aware of the unusual situation that being an auto it has the BMW N47T 2.0 diesel engine rather than the 1.6 PSA engine. As far as I'm aware the Cooper SD also uses the BMW 2.0 N47T diesel engine?
Car guide websites state a substantial difference in performance between the two models of Mini with the same engine, with the Cooper D auto having 110 BHP and the Cooper SD having 140 BHP.
Is anyone here aware of the differences between the N47T engine in the Cooper D auto and the Cooper SD? Is it just the ECU mapping or are they also mechanical differences?
