Minis Takeover Goodwood 3rd Nov 2017

This is organised by a MiniTorque forum member called Jake. It is a mighty effort. It's for charity.

MINIs Take Over Goodwood was created in 2016, by enthusiasts, for enthusiasts. Not all events are created equal. Whether you have a JCW, ONE, Cooper D, Clubman, Old, New or classic, they’re all welcome here.

Few people know that Goodwood is the modern MINIs adoptive home. Being only a stones throw from the John Cooper Works garage in East Preston, where better to develop and hone their performance package than the historic circuit which has played host to countless famous names throughout the years? Hard to think of a more fitting location to celebrate all things MINI.

As with the previous year, the day will be filled with*MINI action both on and off the track; so whether you want to show off your pride and joy, wander the paddocks or just watch the on track action, there will be plenty to keep you entertained.

I fancy that. Will have to look into hotels. I won a pair one-day tickets to Festival of Speed last year with only a week?s notice. By which point every hotel within 50 mile was booked up. So we did Leeds to Goodwood and back in a day - excellent day but a very long one!

That's serious commitment Wilky. Sorry all the events I've posted about are in the SE but that's where I'm based. Presume there must be some Mini clubs in your neck of the woods.

I went to this last year and it was easily the best event I went to that year - it will be even better this year with many more trade stands.

You can get passenger hot laps round the circuit in MINI Challenge cars for a £20 charity donation...

Or come and knock on my window (white/black R53) and you can have a passenger ride anyway!

Spot on Jack. Keyboard warriers. Very savage indeed. Especially if you post a question they think is beneath their contempt. Many are extremely knowledgeable however. They use all sorts of acronyms and slang which if you aren't familiar with is dangerous. The syndrome we seem generally to be suffering from all over - the ease with which one can be rude and evil on social media.

But I've met many of them at various meets and at Brands track days and you are correct. Face to face they are fine.

Timbo, I'll take you up on a ride, be great, thanks for the offer. Got helmet, don't weigh much
I've got 'inside' parking with Mini Club Sussex who have a spot. Mostly geezers with classic Minis. And my mate Steve (the S Works) has a stand - he's bringing the Dreamline Python R52, so should be easy to spot.
My car is also BRG R53.

No need to apologise. I'm still very tempted to head down to Goodwood.

Goodwood Site Plan

For anyone going and han't seen it, here is the Goodwood site plan. Steve and The S Works will be in G - you can't miss the Python R52. I'll be in N with Mini Club Sussex. Presume Timbo will be in B or C with the track day drivers.
