R56 One transformed

So today the wifeís R50 has been transformed. The mirrors were painted a while back from the standard black, to match the red stripe from front to back

Thanks, toying with the grille, or maybe red bars

However, with the chrome headlamp surrounds, it lightens the front anyway

Very nice for once I disagree with mike I think chrome looks great on minis why does everyone want to delete it these days

I am interested to know how you went about doing the red stripe between the window and body work??

Hi Jack, thanks

The stripe is from eBay, just search beltline stripe (sorry cant post a link)

I picked up a roll for under £13 and thereís enough to make a mistake on a panel and some still left over!

It simply sticks to the existing waistrail moulding but clean it up first

Took me about 10 minutes to do the car right round

Iím really pleased with it, it does ping against the black and matches the up and over striping

Interesting Mike. I've resisted the temptation of the black honecombe type grill so far, although I do like the look they provide, I've kept with the standard slats, but in body colour, BRG. My car had the "Chrome Pack" when bought new so the grill slats and boot opener where chrome which I didn't like. So I got the body coloured ones off Steve as he was breaking a BRG with them on.

My car is actually pretty quick and quite heavily modified but I have tried to kind of disguise this and so have a 'stealth' car that looks ordinary but isn't.

My beltline has the black tape on it. But I thought the red would look great on Chalky's car.

its in the eye of the owner i feel, i like the honey comb with chrome spots on it leave the chrome around the grill just makes the front look newer and fresh more aggressive,, these days i tend not to spend money on changing the look of a car as dont tend to keep them long, i get endless offers of broken cars from work where customers cant afford to repair or just have had enough of it, so tend to buy cars that are totally dead and sort them out over weekends and odd evenings drive them around for a bit then sell them on so keeps my owning a car cheap as such

Great pair of cars there

If I was you I would always go out in both cars when both go out, they would look pretty cool in convoy
