Top storage area (between air vents).

My mini has the main cubby box but also a secondary storage area above next to the air vents. When opened there is a small plastic tray to hold things. Does anyone know how I remove this plastic tray. The reason is I am considering fitting a second aftermarket head unit behind this cover and would like to know if i have the depth. I have tried searching but don't even know what this storage is called.

The forum won't let me add them. I am referring to the small trim panel that sits directly in front of the passenger. It is a long letterbox shape curved surface panel. Without the option it is just a trim panel, but as an option it is a second storage area (doesn't store much though Sunglasses is about all). For cars with the option if you push it in it springs back and the trim panel hinges down to reveal a small storage area. I want to take the plastic storage box out and replace it with a second radio. But don't know how to get it out.

It looks like once you have the trim pieces off, i.e. the glossy bits and the smaller parts 5 and 7 off (they clip in/off) it should pull out (number 9), no obvious screws in diagram. This is R57 but all the same.
