Hi all,

Due to the overwhelming presence of the invisible kangaroos on the Australian roads, I have decided to buy some extra lights for my mini, but I opted not to get the official ones, as they are too expensive for a secondary school student like me, so I bought a set of these: ebay.com/itm/323383787125.

They are 5 inch and will fit and not be overly large, so I am happy about that (to preface, I bought a pair of the cheapest HID 9 inch lights I could find, and little did I realize the lights were almost the size of the cars wheels )

So my question is, how would I go about mounting these? I kinda have the idea that I would likely make my own aluminium L bracket for each of them, and have it come in under the grill so it doesn't look ugly, then have it bolt onto the frame behind.

my other option is, if the light mount is tall enough, I can simply just drill some holes into the front bumper to fit the lights, but I'm not sure how durable that would be in the long run

here is a photo of my mini as well, just in case

could put a couple of light bars on front of it linked up to high beam via relays and take switching wire for the relays from high bean light bulbs wire used the link below on a few off roaders work really well and dont over load the wiring or charger circuit
ebay.co.uk/itm/52-Slimline-Osram-4D-LED-High-Power-Light-52-Curved-Led-Bar-12v-24v-36000-Lumen/293071462902?hash=item443c6ba1f6:g:HpQAAOSwitRa2Gf1
That's the way I was planning to wire it, my main concern is mounting the bloody lights, since it's illegal in Vic to have any roof lights as well

I've heard Australia is very strict on having mods done to cars.

Hopefull something like OEM spot lights will pass inspection.

I've seen people fitting 4 spot lights across the front like this

I'm not sure how much more expensive they are in Australia but as it's OEM hopefully you'll pass inspection, but best to check before you go ahead.

I think they will pass inspection, if the front bumper can hold them well enough, don't want to ruin the aesthetic of the car too much with metal everywhere. If these lights go alright I'll be buying another pair so it will have 4
