Comments: Hi
Changed timing chain and broken inlet valve on 2007 mini one R56 N12 valvetronic engine. Had 0 compression in cylinder 1, 140psi in cylinders 2,3 and 4 before I started fix. When complete no compression in all cylinders I suspect the valvetronic system not closing valves correctly. I have 2.75dcv at the actuator motor 0.3 ohms between terminals and 0 ohms between terminal and actuator body. If I operate the motor manually I can get approx 55psi at each cylinder

Sounds like valvetronic mechanism needs looking at. Are all the springs positioned correctly with all seats in place.

Thanks for the reply. I certainly suspect the valvetronic system somehow, or possibly needs attention via the mini approved software? Although I do have a basic code reader that did identify a couple of issues which I've rectified. I'll just plod on and see where we end up.

Thanks again for the reply.

Hi
Took off valve actuator motor tested on bench all ok checked springs etc all OK. I'm waiting for our local independent mini specialist to come out this coming week and hopefully use their bmw software on it to see what that throws up if anything.

Good job it's only a project car and no one is relying on it.

Regards

True I retired last October and this car was my sons partners car she never looked after it and paid the price she always wanted a four door car bought one (not a mini thankfully) and was going to scrap the mini so I put it in my garage and started dabbling with it December 18. Enjoyed dabbling but disappointed re the no fire but there you go. I'll let you know the progress if any. If not ill scrap it.

Thanks for your interest.

Cheers Mike
Thanks for advice and the link. I'll try my local mini man first as I think the cost of both packages is just a little less than Nick ( mini specialist) is charging me for calling to see me and letting me have two hours of his expertise.

Hopefully I'll move forward from there. Wished you lived near me you could call and take a look for yourself and have a chat and coffee😉

Regards
Kevin

only difference is you would have that diagnostics to use as many times as you need to in future when he's two hours
