New Member - R53 Mini Cooper S John Cooper Works

Hi,

Purchased my first Mini last weekend, I went for an R53 Mini Cooper S John Cooper Works, I am extremely pleased with the car. I live in rural Somerset so the windy lanes have been perfect for taking the car for a drive.

I have been looking over this forum since purchasing the car and I was looking for some information regarding the optional extras and packages the car came with. I have tried searching but unfortunately I haven't go too far.

I was looking for a list of the extras that are included in the packages the car was purchased with, and if possible a price list for the extras available at the time? I would really like to find out what cost it was for the original owner to have these optional extras.

The additional packages the car came with, according to BMW VIN decoder, were -
Chilli package
Visibility Package
Smokers Package
Interior Light Package
Storage Compartment Package

Along with these optional extras -
Electric Sunroof
Automatic Air Conditioning
DSC
Satellite Navigation Professional
Alloy Wheels
Heated Windscreen
Rain Sensors
Xenon Lights
On Board Computer
6 Disc CD Changer
Full Leather Trim
Sports Suspension
Additional Ventilator?
Sports Seats
Along with a few more

The car had the JCW package fitted after 17 miles, I have the certificate of authenticity as well. By using the forum I've determined it to be the 1st Generation 200bhp Cooper Works Package, by lack of JCW Air filter & due to the time of issue.

I was tempted by additional modifications but on the same hand I am also quite keen to keep the car in it's original state, what would you guys recommend?

Any help would be much appreciated

Cheers

Lovely car in one of the best colours too!
The only things I would to is to get an Aero kit fitted and maybe
change the alloys at some point.

My R53 MCS JCW

Here are some pics of my R53 JCW conversion. Not quite as highly spec. as yours but has the full leather interiuor and the panoramic glass roof.

My conversion is to the rare 225bhp upgrade (with JCW Airbox and JCM exhaust manifold and sports cat.)

I have also fitted the JCW front upper strut brace.

The wheels are standard 'S' spoke powder coated gloss black and I have deleted the chrome belt line with black vinyl.
