funny old world had a women today tell us that someone on a forum had told her gen 1 mini's never have head gasket problems and its always the thermostat housings and off she went,, ho yes she had boiled this car 3 times on 20 miles journey as well, all petrol gen 2 cars have same timing chains and all stretch, also the gen 2 and newer diesels after march 2010 n47 bmw own engine also have same issues, 76k has done well seen 1.4 ones with 30k with chain nailed etc, its oly death rattle if foolish enough to keep running it with that noise,
