Hello, My service engine light has gone on and the problem is that my O2 sensor is broken and needs to be replaced. The dealer had a price of around $170, I found a couple online for about $40 but the mechanic said they would not work. I'm pretty skeptical...wondering if anybody has any advice???

Thanks

I had to replace the O2 sensor recently on my car, I just went to Kragen and asked the guy behind the parts desk for the right one for my car, they had it shipped out there in about a week, and I installed it with the Bentley service manual including jacking the car up and putting on the jack stands, it took me under 30 minutes by myself to remove the old 02 sensor, lube and install the new O2 sensor, and then tidy up the cable. since the O2 sensor is important to a happy engine, get the recommended one, I think the one that I used is made by Bosch.
