or power steering pump is nearly a dead short and puling more power from battery than the charge circuit can handle is very common when steering pump fails ,, also can destroy the battery as well
Based on this and what I learned at advanced auto, it's probably one of three things. My ABS is still running and whining after I kill nthe car, maybe that is draining the battery. Maybe there is a short in the power steering pump or the excess load of a now functioning pump is too much for a dying alternator. My alternator measured at like 14.01 while the vehicle was running. Finally that could be caused by a loose serpentine belt not the alternator itself being faulty.or power steering pump is nearly a dead short and puling more power from battery than the charge circuit can handle is very common when steering pump fails ,, also can destroy the battery as well

Pulled those fuses and I still have power steering. Battery light is still on and I think I can hear my ABS pump continuing to run after the car is stopped. I tried pulling that fuse but whatever the noise is, it won't stop unless I disconnect the battery. Sounds like an electrical whine. Here's a picture of you engine compartment fusebox as per the manual
