I know we don't have many (any?) with an 09 JCW to give real world MPG. However, I've seen more than a few sites that quote 40.9mpg average. Is this for real? The 08 MCS is only rated at 26/34 with a 29mpg average.

That's almost 12mpg more for the JCW. Really?

Don't get confused between UK mpg and US mpg..... different sized gallons ;)

Our mpg for the standard S is around 42mpg, so 40 for the JCW sounds about right.

In US mpg then, expect a 27 average :)

Ah, I suppose that would make sense. What's the conversion?

Also, is it reasonable that the JCW only gets slightly less mileage than a comparable MCS?

Depends on how you drive it :p

But yes, I'd expect fuel consumption will only be marginally less :)
Heh, of course.

My current car is rated 19/24 and I average just under 26, and I'm no grandma. I'm sure I may be tempted to push the MINI a little more, though.
