Hi, Cars in for its tlc and been told that it needs 2 new rear pads and discs but its only been about 10k miles since they were last replaced. Does this sound right? I know it all depends on how its driven etc but I only usually drive at weekends and not too hard. Cars a works 'S' by the way. I did notice that the discs looked a bit corroded but thought there might have been a bit more life left in them??

There may well be life left in them, however, the dealer will inspect the brakes and ensure they last to the next service. If there is only 4k miles of life left in them, they'll tell you they need replacing.

Ask them how many mm's are left on the pads and discs etc, and how many miles that equates to. Then make your decision.

cheers minicabrio, was going to ask them how much was left on them, I think the bigger issue was the corrosion on the discs which has occurred in about 18 months but i'll deffo ask them. Cheers
