I thought I should share this, in case anyone else hadn't discovered this, but I'm pretty excited.

The new 2005 head units, as many have already mentioned, can play computer CD-R and CD-RW discs with mp3 files on them. What I didn't know, and is a feature that I've found is rare in even aftermarket mp3 cd players, is that if you hold down the "track advance" button, it will scan through the file and you can *hear* the scan! This is very important for those of us who record radio broadcasts and want to skip through the station identification announcements and promotions for upcoming programs.

I was all set to upgrade my head unit with my Pioneer (which scans, but the sound is silent while this happens), but now I have yet another reason to leave the base head unit alone! (By the way, this is the standard, non-Harmon Kardon head unit.)
