Hi all,

I am new to the forum so apologies if this has been posted previously. My Mini has the full USB and bluetooth option, with the standard analog central speedo. I have purchased a cheap Y cable from Amazon and found this does not utilise the iPod media function, only the AUX. Does anyone have any experience with the Genuine Mini Y to lightning connector cable from Mini directly? I am wanting to know if my car will support this with my iPhone 11.
Any help would be really appreciated.

Well the car age would help. If you have those options then I think you should be using just the usb. I don't know why the aux connection is still supplied, it's as about as useful as an 8-track player. There is unresolved suspicion that trying to connect an iPhone by bluetooth and usb can cause problems displaying playlists etc when using the usb. I wouldn't buy that Y connector till you have a few more replies.
